The Kings Walkway, El Chorro

The Caminito del Rey, the narrow walkway over the

Desfiladero de los Gaitanes in Ardales is to be restored to the original design.

Malaga Provincial Government has announced that the budget to restore the three-kilometre walkway is €8.3m and the project will take three years from it´s start in mid-2011.

The walkway is closed due to its extremely dangerous state but hopes are that the tourist attraction will be resored to its former glory.

It connects the Gaitanejo Reservoir in Ardales and El Chorro in Alora.

Talks are also being held to discuss the reintroduction of the train on the old route and restore the statioin at Coscojal.
