Andalucia Cruise Ports

The south of Spain has many ports but very few are large and important enough to accommodate a cruise ship. Cruise ships often stop in Cadiz, the gateway to the Mediterranean Sea and the choice of cruise liners that stop here is ample.

The ports of call in Andalucia for Mediterranean cruises are all on the Mediterranean Sea except for Cadiz and Huelva which are on the Atlantic Coast.

Cadiz is also the main car ferry port from the Spanish mainland to the Spanish Canary Islands off the coast of Africa.

Cruise ships often lay on guided tours
to the site and cities near the port of call, it may be a deciding factor on
your choice of cruise depending on
which Andalucian city or cities you'd
like to include in your itinerary.

From the ports Almeria, Malaga and Motril it's possible to go to Granada for a day trip and visit the Alhambra Palace and from Cadiz you can go to Sevilla. But to be honest there is plenty to see and do in the town or city of your stop, and not really enough time to do justice on the day trips further inland.
