Monastery Stays in Andalucia
Andalucia
Convento Immaculada Concepción
This monastery, in Alhama, nestling in the foot of the Sierra de Tejada Almijara and Alhama was founded in 1556. The original building and much of its art collection were destroyed by fire in the Civil War and what remains is just a trace of its former glory.
With wonderful views, this community of Clarisse nuns opens its doors to both male and female guests with beds for 20 in rooms from one person to four people.
The accommodation is basic, sheets and towels are not supplied although these may be hired. Meals are not provided but a kitchen and dining room are available for guests use.
