This monastery was founded by twelve women from Lebrija near Seville, in 1518 a group of nuns from San Juan de la Palma monastery joined them to form the Franciscan monastery that still exists today.

The monastery in the walled town of Lebrija is next to the Ayuntamiento and they sell delicious home-made pastries from the door.

Being a closed monastery visitors are not allowed inside but do visit the beautiful Baroque church that is open to visiting.

The acccommodation on offer is 13 single rooms for women only, a reading room, kitchen and laundry are available and longer stays are preferred.
