Monasteries to Stay in

Andalucia

Monasterio de La Purísima Concepción

This monastery is a 17th palace on the outskirts of Marchena and houses some of the works of art from that period. It was donated to the Clarisse nuns in 1631 and been occupied by the order since then.

The nuns are well-known for their honey and almond pastries which they sell from the monastery. The accommodation they offer is in the Hospederia Santa Maria which has one single and nine double rooms all with private bathrooms. They supply towels and linen and meals can be provided to guests on a spiritual retreat.
