Jaen Parador

The Jaen Parador or Parador de Santa Catalina has to be the most spectacularly sited hotel in Andalucia. It is perched high above the provincial city of Jaén with incredible far reaching views of the city and endless olive groves beyond.

Jaen Parador from the road below.

On a clear day you can see the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the distance. Take a stroll along the paved walkway to the hill´s edge and inhale the view from the white monumental cross.

Santa Catalina, Jaen Parador Interior

The parador, built in the 1960s is a
reconstruction of the 13th century
arabic fortress that stood watch
on the hill. The believable exterior
is even better from within - the vaulted
ceiling reaching 20 metres high
induces whispering in the drawing room.
