Granada Airport

Granada airport, or El Aeropuerto de Frederico Garcia-Lorca Granada-Jaen to give it its full title, is situated to the north-west of the city in the area called la comarca de la Vega del Genil.

It's a small airport that consists of one small terminal building where you can sit in the café and watch the boarding queue go down.

How to find Granada Airport

The airport is in Santa Fe, if you are travelling by car from Jaen on the A92 you need to take the Malaga direction. The airport lies around 105 km from Jaen city and 8km from Granada city.

Low Cost Flights into Granada airport

From the U.K only Monarch and Ryanir fly there are many national flights with companies like Vueling, Iberia and Clickair.

Public Transport to and from the airport

Buses - Buses run after every flight arrival into the city, turn right out of arrivals and the bus stop is outside the doors. It should cost around 3 Euros. Bus tickets can be booked online.

A new service (Nov 2008) has been introduced directly from Jaen bus station, with some buses going on to Baeza and Ubeda.

Taxis - Taxis are abundant and the taxi fare to or from Granada city to the airport should be no more than 25 Euros for the 20 minute trip. The bus fare to or from Granada should be around 3 Euros.

Car Hire - Car hire is plentiful, the best value is from those companies located just outside the airport which, also have the cheapest long-stay parking rates, and provide free shuttle buses to and fro.

Car Parking - Parking your car at Granada airport is easy, there are several garages/car hire/car parking premises on the approach road to the airport.

The first one you come to, L&G, is cheaper (4 Euros a day) than the one nearer the airport, just drive straight into the enclosed parking bay, go into the petrol station and leave your car registration number and arrival time of your return flight. Hop on the courtesy bus and you'll be driven to the airport main door.
