Dining Secrets of Andalucia

by

Jon Clarke

Review

From cave restaurants to terrace views and glamorous dining to family friendly locations Dining Secrets of Andalucia by Jon Clarke, recently released by Santana Books is sure to be a hit, it is with me. A long awaited first guide to some of the growing number of excellent eating establishments around Andalucia

Travelling the whole of Andalucia is quite a task, but it has been done! Each one of the eight provinces is represented in this nicely presented and highly welcome guide for residents and tourists alike.

If fine dining is the main highlight of your holiday then the province of your destination has to be Malaga with a whopping 30 establishments making the guide.

While rather sadly my own home province of Jaen has just two entries, but what a lot of scope for exploring and eating – I’m almost jealous. But seriously, well done Mr Clarke this is a great read, well-researched and a long over-due necessity. I'm sure this is just the beginning of many more good feast reads to come.

Each featured restaurant has a double–page spread, oneinformative and chatty page with relevant gossip and history, the other introduces:

Top Dish
Top Tipple
Top Dollar
Top Tip
Top Kip

What else could you possibly need to know – lets get out and check ‘em out.

I particularly enjoyed the Roll of Honour with ten top five lists from galmour to Andaluz charm and the Wild Card section of up and coming worthy feasting haunts.

This will be a well-dipped into addition to my bookshelf and hopefully will be well-tested too.
