Camping in Andalucia is extremely popular and there are many muncipal campsites on the edge of towns and cities and many privately run, more rural sites. Camping is a huge part of the Spanish culture and masses of Spaniards leave the cites for cooler grounds in the summer. Bank holiday weekends also see a mass exodus for the numerous Natural and National Parks. Hot barmy summer nights under the stars and alongside groups of Spanish can be a noisy affair as many families may not sit down to eat until 11pm or even later. So although the site brochures may say it's a peaceful area, your neighbours may not be. All the campsites listed on the following pages are approved and registered by the Spanish Tourist Board.
