Birthplace of Picasso

Casa Natal or the Birthplace of Picasso houses some personal family momentos, interesting artefacts and a library and Research Centre.

An official heritage site Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born in the historical centre of Malaga, this was his home from 1880 to 1883. It was taken over by the Picasso Foundation in 1998 and become not only a monument but an important research centre.

It is home to around 3,500 works of art by more than 200 artists and the aim of The Foundation is eventually to house the entire collection of Picasso’s graphic art, enabling the sequence and techniques to be seen as one collection.

The Casa Natal Museum is open Mon- Sun – 9.00 – 20.00. It is closed on Bank Holidays.
