Antequera Parador or Parador de Antequera is a quiet, recently renovated modern hotel surrounded by lovely gardens and a large open-air swimming pool. It is only open in the high season.
It's a bit too modern for my liking but very cool and tasteful non-the-less. Good coffee, not bad views and very inviting pool.
Antequera is the heart of Andalucia and a great base from which to explore. The hotel has 58 rooms and the restaurant has stunning views of the Vega Antequerana and La Peña de los Enamorados - Lovers' Rock.
In the restaurant you must try the traditional dishes from Málaga, such as Porra antequerana, a vegetable dip, gazpacho, a cold soup, pío antequerano a salt-cod dish and bienmesabe a type of sponge cake which are the specialities of this parador.
