A Late Dinner
This is an enjoyable read. I struggled with the aperitif a little but by the next plate I was ravenous. Not at all what I´d been expecting but delicious.
Heavy courses interspersed with a souffle or two kept the whole tale moving along nicely.
Each tidbit an tasty delight, some parts relished more than others. Overall? A slow starter but a winner and like many things, not fully appreciated at the moment but the final sadness at completion tells the story.
For the uninitiated in Spanish gastronomy or luke warm foodies its detail maybe a little overboard, but the food lover will come away wiser and with a greater desire to experiment and travel.
Me? I was left with a hunger to explore further, experience more and get cooking. I only wish I´d been with Richardson through so many of the menus he shared.
Left with a newly awakened hunger for restaurants/tapas experiences but also to experiment more in the kitchen and in my huerta.
The expectation that almost had me walking away then leapt to wanting more means I shall have to do a repeat read and will certainly be dipping into it again and again for a tapas moment or two.
